We keep this simple: we collect what we need to answer you, quote you, sell to you, and ship for you. We do not sell your information and we do not run advertising trackers.
1. Who we are
ANSI Corporation, a California corporation, doing business as PackNifty ("PackNifty", "we", "us"), 1302 Monte Vista Ave Suite 1, Upland, CA 91786. We decide why and how the information described here is used. This policy covers packnifty.com, our Upland counter, and communications with us by email or phone. It does not cover other websites we link to.
2. What we collect and why
The table lists the kinds of personal information we collect, what we use it for, and who it may be shared with. We collect only what is needed for the purpose.
| What | Examples | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact details | Name, email address, phone number, company name | Reply to you, send quotes and order updates, arrange pickup, handle returns and support |
| Order and quote details | Products, sizes, quantities, quote and order history, delivery or pickup choice | Prepare quotes, fill orders, keep business and tax records |
| Delivery details | Shipping address, ZIP code, recipient name and phone (for Pack & Ship, the recipient may be someone else) | Ship and track your package, and deal with carrier problems |
| Pack & Ship job details | Description, size, weight and value of an item, whether it is fragile, photos we take when packing | Pack the item properly, choose a carrier service, and handle damage or loss claims |
| Payment details | Invoice and payment status, payment method type, card brand and last four digits (full card numbers go only to our payment processor) | Invoice you, take payment, refund you, and prevent fraud |
| Business and tax details | Resale or tax-exemption certificates, billing address | Apply tax correctly and keep records the law requires |
| Technical information | IP address, browser type, pages visited, date and time (standard web server logs from our hosting provider) | Deliver the site, keep it secure, and fix errors |
| Your messages | What you write in an email, form or call | Answer you and keep a record of what we agreed |
Payment information. We invoice quotes through Stripe. When you pay, your card or other payment details are entered on a payment page run by Stripe and go to Stripe, not to us. We receive the result of the payment and limited details such as the payment method type, the card brand and the last four digits. We do not store your full card number. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the information it collects.
We use your information only for these purposes, to follow the law, to protect against fraud and misuse, and to enforce our terms. We do not use it for anything unrelated without telling you first.
3. Where it comes from
- From you: when you email us, call us, use our contact, business or Pack & Ship quote forms, or visit the counter. The quote forms on this site open a message in your own email program, addressed to [email protected]. Nothing is sent to us until you press send in your email program, and the details travel through your email provider.
- Automatically: basic technical information when you load the site (see section 2).
- From others: carriers (delivery status), and a customer who gives us a recipient's name and address for a Pack & Ship job. If you give us someone else's information, please make sure you are allowed to.
The site's search, filters and Box Finder run in your browser. What you type there is not sent to us.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with companies that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Hosting and security: Cloudflare, which serves this website and handles its web traffic.
- Email: Zoho, which provides our email service, so it handles the messages you send us and our replies.
- Carriers: FedEx, USPS, UPS, and LTL/freight carriers for large orders, which need the recipient's name, address and phone number to deliver.
- Payments: Stripe, which sends our invoices and processes payments.
- Accountants, tax and legal advisers, when needed for our records and to follow the law.
- Authorities and others, if the law requires it or to protect people, our rights, or our property. If we ever sell or merge the business, customer information may go to the new owner, who must honor this policy.
Our service providers may use your information only to provide services to us. We do not let other companies use it for their own marketing.
5. We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for cross-context behavioral advertising (ads that follow you around the internet). We have not done either in the past 12 months. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
6. Cookies, tracking, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Cookies and analytics. This site does not use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking pixels, and does not load third-party ad or social-media scripts. Our hosting provider may use essential security measures and standard server logs. If we later add analytics or any cookie that is not essential, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We do not track you across other websites or online services, so a browser "Do Not Track" signal does not change how this site works. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal and similar opt-out signals: because we do not sell or share your information, they have the same result you are asking for.
Other parties. We do not allow other parties to collect personal information about your activity on this site for their own purposes. Websites we link to, such as carriers or maps, have their own practices.
7. How long we keep it
- Quotes, orders, invoices and tax records: as long as tax, accounting and business-record laws require (generally several years), then we delete or anonymize them.
- Messages that did not lead to an order: up to 24 months.
- Pack & Ship photos and packing records: until any claim period has ended, normally up to 12 months.
- Web server logs: kept by our host for a short time for security and troubleshooting.
We may keep something longer if we need it for a dispute or the law requires it.
8. Your privacy choices
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information (we may have to keep some, such as tax records, and we will tell you what and why);
- stop sending you marketing email (see section 10).
Email [email protected] or call (909) 285-4868. We may ask you to confirm details we already have so that we do not give your information to the wrong person. We will answer within 45 days, and we will not charge you or treat you worse for asking. You may use someone you trust (an authorized agent) to ask for you; we will ask for proof that they are authorized. If we decline, we will tell you why, and you can ask us to look again.
9. California residents
California law gives residents rights to know, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We apply the choices in section 8 to every California resident, and we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. You will not be treated differently for using these rights.
In the last 12 months we collected the categories of information in the table in section 2: identifiers such as name, email, phone and address; commercial information such as quotes and orders; internet activity and device information in server logs; and approximate location from your IP address or delivery address. We shared them only for the business purposes in section 4.
California's "Shine the Light" law lets you ask which personal information a business shares with others for their direct marketing. We do not share it for that purpose. Under California's online privacy law, you can review and ask for changes to your information as described in section 8. If we make material changes to this policy, we tell you as described in section 13.
10. Email and calls
We email you to answer your messages, send quotes, confirm orders and send shipping updates. Those are service messages. We do not send marketing newsletters today. If we start, every marketing email will say it is an ad, carry our physical address, and have a clear unsubscribe link that works for at least 30 days. We will stop within 10 business days of your request.
11. Children
Our website and services are for adults and businesses. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We do not knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We use reasonable safeguards for the information we hold, such as limiting who can see it and using trusted service providers. No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach affects your information, we will notify you as California and other laws require.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the "Last updated" date and put a notice at the top of this page for at least 30 days. If we want to use your information for a new purpose, we will tell you first.
